Three Worthy Projects to Give To This Giving Tuesday

The holidays are a time when we often think about giving back to those in need. This year, consider supporting three worthy non-profits that are making a huge difference both locally to the Northern Virginia area, and all over the globe.

I’ve been extremely lucky to work with multiple non-profits who are effecting change all over the world; this year I went to Moldova and summited Mount Kilimanjaro, all to help tell the stories of organizations that are changing the world. So if you’re looking to give this Giving Tuesday, please consider looking into the following.

Justice and Mercy International

The first is Justice and Mercy International, who are working to help the poor, orphaned, and forgotten people of the world. Justice and Mercy specifically works in two areas – Moldova and Brazil. This year, Justice and Mercy International is helping keep vulnerable families in Moldova fed and warm during the winter.

The war in Ukraine has caused inflation to make essential supplies not affordable and it has really hurt those who live in Moldova. This Giving Tuesday, Justice and Mercy is hoping to provide heat, food, and essential supplies to those in Moldova.

Earlier this year, alongside Justice and Mercy International, I shot a video in Moldova about how the war in Ukraine has impacted the people of Moldova and how Justice & Mercy helped out.

Young Life Developing Global Leaders

The second is Young Life’s Developing Global Leaders program, which helps students get a college education while also working on as a Young Life leader. By sponsoring a student, Developing Global Leaders opens up opportunities for Young Life leaders in developing countries to have a bright future. With the chance to attend college locally, these kids are also able to spread the Gospel throughout their communities.

By sponsoring a student, you help finance their attendance to college as well as become a Young Life Leader.

This year, I was able to do something amazing- I climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro with a few fellow students from Young Life Developing Global Leader program. Brandon Heath, who sponsors a student, also got to join us on this journey and documented it through video footage.

Designed2Connect

And lastly, there is Designed2Connect, who equip people to connect deeper with God, others and themselves. They do this by to do that by partnering with professional Christian counselors by raising funds that subsidize the cost of professional counseling for individuals who can’t afford it, hosting seminars on mental health, and through To Be Told groups.

Designed2Connect is a local non-profit here in Northern Virginia and the Washington D.C. area who hopes to bridge the gap for those who are searching for hope in healing and make counseling services affordable to those who need it but can’t afford it.

Here is a video I made for Designed2Connect that gives a better overview of who they are and what they do.
